ingredients

  • 1 – 16 oz. pkg dried ziti pasta
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 – 28 oz. jars of spaghetti sauce
  • 8 oz. sliced provolone
  • 8 oz. sliced mozzarella cheese (can use shredded)
  • 1 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 c. chopped fresh basil

directions

Cook pasta per package directions for 8 minutes, until al dente; drain. Tear Italian sausage into small pieces and brown in skillet. Drain off the fat and add spaghetti sauce. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Take off the heat, and stir in sour cream. Preheat oven to 300°. In a lightly greased 9x13 pan, place 1/2 the pasta, top with mozzarella and provolone, spread on a layer of 1/2 the sauce. Cover with the remaining pasta, cheese and sauce. Sprinkle on the basil and the parmesan cheese. Bake for 30 minutes or until cheese and sauce is bubbly.
