ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or shortening, room temperature
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cream of tarter
  • 1 tsp salt

    Creme softened shortening, oil and sugars well. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.

    Stir in dry ingredients, mixing well. Chill dough.

  • 3

    Roll out and use cookie cutters for holidays and special occasions. Add sprinkles or decorate before baking, if desired.

    Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet and cool.

    Makes 6 dozen. Dough may be refrigerated in Tupperware for as long as two weeks.
