Surprise Meringues

A light and airy cookie my mother made every Christmas.
ingredients
- 2 eggs whites
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 cream of tarter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 6 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
directions
Preheat oven to 300. Beat first 4 ingredients together until soft peaks form. Gradually add in the sugar continuing to beat until peaks are stiff. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by teaspoons on baking sheet covered with brown paper bag. Bake approximately 25 minutes. Do not double this recipe. Store in an airtight container.
