White Wine Sangria

**Family Favorite**

ingredients

  • 2 big bottles of white wine (Pinot Grigio is good.)
  • 1 bag frozen mango chunks
  • 1 bag frozen berry mix
  • 1 lemon sliced into rounds
  • 1 lime sliced into rounds
  • 1 orange sliced into rounds
  • 1 can pineapple rounds with juice
  • 2-3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 can of Lemon-lime soda
  • Optional: You can mix up the fruit any way you like depending on what is in season. Apples, pears, starfruit all make delicious additions. Obviously any of the frozen fruit can be substituted for fresh fruit.

I use a big jug to make this. Pour both bottles of wine into the jug. Add all of the fruit, pour the whole can of pineapple rings including the juice into the jug. Add the sugar and stir it all together. It tastes best when the fruit and wine get to sit for a few hours, overnight is best. Right before serving add ice and the can of soda.

To give the sangria a kick 1/2 a cup of vodka can be added to wine mixture.

Another variation is to add schnapps to the wine mixture, cherry and sour green apple are tasty. If using schnapps omit the sugar, the schnapps is sweet enough on its own.
