Brisket with Apricot Sauce

What a perfect meal, sweet and savory with lots of flavor

ingredients

  • 5oz Jar of Apricot Jelly
  • 2 lb. Brisket
  • 1 Tbspn. Sea Salt + 1/4 tspn. for sauce
  • 2 Tbspn. Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbspn. Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
  • 3/4 cup of Chicken, Beef or Vegetable Stock

    For the Brisket:

    Combine the spices and rub over the meat

  • 3

    Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and let sit over night

  • 4

    Pre Heat your Oven to 300

  • 5

    Heat a non-stick pan over high heat and sear the meat on all sides

  • 6

    Put the brisket in a roasting pan and cover tightly with tin foil

  • 7

    Place in oven for 2 hours and 10 minutes

    When the meat is done remove it from the oven, uncover it and let it rest for 15 minutes

    Then thinly slice it against the grain

    For the Sauce:

    Deglaze the pan with 1/2 cup of stock

  • 12

    Empty the Jelly into the pan and completely combine with the stock

  • 13

    Mix in the salt

  • 14

    If it still seems to thick for your likeing add the remianing 1/4 cup until it reaches your desired texture

  • 15

    Pour the sauce over the meat and serve
