Margaret Haas’ recipe
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 3/4 cup Cake Flour
- 4 tbls Milk (room temperature)
- 3/4 cup melted Baker’s Bitter Chocolate (approx. 4 double cakes)
- 1/2 cup chopped Walnuts
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla.
Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, milk, vanilla and mix. Add the melted chocolate, flour and nuts and mix well.
Pour into a greased and floured 13x9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. When cool, cut into sticks.
To the pan of left over melted bitter chocolate, add some powdered sugar, vanilla and milk or cream. Mix until you ave a real good icing and spread on top of cooled cake.
