Margaret Haas’ recipe


  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 3/4 cup Cake Flour
  • 4 tbls Milk (room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup melted Baker’s Bitter Chocolate (approx. 4 double cakes)
  • 1/2 cup chopped Walnuts
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla.

To the pan of left over melted bitter chocolate, add some powdered sugar, vanilla and milk or cream. Mix until you ave a real good icing and spread on top of cooled cake.
