Apple Kuchen
This simple apple torte is patterned after the German apfel kuchen so popular at Christmas time. Make it now and freeze for later or prepare it shortly before serving time.
ingredients
KUCHEN:- 1 pkg Dry Yeast
- 2 Tbls each Warm Water and Sugar
- 1 Egg, slightly beaten
- 1/2 cup Milk, scalded, cooled
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 2 cups Sifted Flour
- 6-8 Cooking Apples, pared and sliced
- 2/4 cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 cup Butter

For a thicker Kuchen, either a 13x9 inch pan or 9 inch spring form pan can be used.
