Texas Sheet Cake
ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 cubes butter (1c.)
- 1/2 t. salt
- 3 T. cocoa
- 1 t. soda
- 1/2 c. buttermilk (or put vinegar in milk)
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 c. water
- 2 eggs
- Frosting
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 T. cocoa
- 6 T. milk
- 1 lb. Powdered sugar
- 1 t. vanilla

To make cake, combine butter, water and cocoa in pan. Bring to a boil, stirring often. Remove from heat. When mixture is lukewarm, add sugar and beat. Add eggs and remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased, floured jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle come out clean.

To make the frosting, melt butter with cocoa and milk. Beat in sugar and vanilla. Pour over hot cake after removal from oven. Frosting will be runny, but it will harden as it cools.
