Chocolate Fudge

ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 2 sq. chocolate or 1/2 c cocoa
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 T. light corn syrup
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    1. Pour sugar, milk, chocolate, salt, and corn syrup in sauce pan. Stir over low heat until chocolate melts and sugar dissolves. Increase heat to boil and fudge forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water. Stir occasionally.

    2. Remove from stove, drop in butter, and set aside to cool without stirring. Add vanilla and beat with a wooden spoon until fudge loses gloss and becomes thick enough to hold shape when a little is dropped from spoon. Put in buttered dish.
