Spaghetti Sauce (Marinara Sauce)
ingredients
- 1 small can anchovies, or 1/2 tube of anchovy paste
- small chopped onion
- garlic
- Canned tomatoes - either whole plum, or crushed, or diced.
- 1 small can tomato paste
- Salt, pepper, Italian seasoning
- 1 T. sugar
- 2 T. butter/olive oil
directions
Melt butter in oil. Saute anchovies, onions and garlic. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 30 sec, stirring well. Add canned tomatoes and seasonings/sugar. Let simmer slowly for as long as you want. Stir frequently.
