ingredients

  • 6 Pounds Cooking Apples, Peeled, Cored & Coarsely Chopped
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 4 Cups Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup White Vinegar
  • 2 Teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Allspice
  • 1/2 Teaspoons Ground Cloves

directions

Combine apple and water in a large Dutch oven; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until apple is tender. Mash apple. Stir in sugar and vinegar; bring back to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 2 1/2 hours or until mixture is very thick. Stir in cinnamon, allspice, and clove. Store in refrigerator up to 1 month.
