Irene's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Every cookie monster needs a full cookie jar!! These are great to do with Ava and they can always be decorated with sprinkles!
ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- chocolate chips
- sprinkles (optional)

In a mixer, cream butter and sugar together until smooth.

Blend in two eggs and vanilla.

Mix together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Turn on mixer again and blend in the flour mixture 1/3 at a time; blend until all flour is mixed in.

Remove bowl from mixer and stir in (by hand) the chocolate chips and the nuts.

Spoon onto cookie sheet (about a tsp. size amount per cookie) and bake in a 375 degree oven for 9-11 minutes.

Ava can help by spooning the dough onto the cookie sheets; I have fond memories of Evan helping and licking the bowls and beaters clean!
