Peanut Butter Cookies

Round, crunchy cookies

ingredients

1/2 c butter
1/2 c peanut butter
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 c all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
red and green sugar sprinkles

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Thoroughly cream butter, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt. Blend into creamed mixture.

Shape into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Crisscross with fork. Add sprinkles or sugar if desired.

Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove before cookies turn brown. Cool slightly. Remove from pan.

I don't remember where I got this recipe. It's a dog-eared file card that shows many signs of kitchen wear. I've had it nearly 30 years. This is everyone's favorite Christmas cookie. Remember,Derek? I shipped these to you in Florida.
