Devilish Chocolate Cake
ingredients
- Batter:
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup cocoa
- 1 1/2 tbl instant coffee
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 tbl vanilla
- 1 cup oil
- 1 cup boiling water
- 3/4 cup buttermilk/sour milk
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
- Frosting:
- 1/4 cup butter (room temperature)
- 4 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
- 2/3 cup cocoa, sifted
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 to 4 tbl milk

Preheat oven to 350°.

Place a pan of water in the oven. Sift dry ingredients, mix in wet ingredients and beat on high for 2-3 minutes.

Pour into 2 greased and floured, 9 inch pans. Bake approximately 40 minutes until a toothpick at the center comes out clean. Cool and smother with chocolate frosting.

Frosting:

Beat butter and cream cheese, add cocoa, vanilla. Then add sugar and milk. Just add enough milk to make frosting creamy.

Beat the frosting for at least 3 minutes on high. You might want to make a double batch of frosting for the people who love frosting!
