Chicken Paprikas with Spatzel
Traditional Hungarian Recipe
ingredients
- 6 chicken pieces
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 T. shortening
- 2 T. flour
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 T. paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 T. salt
- 1/2 c. water

Saute onions in shortening. Add paprika and chicken. Cover and cook about 45 minutes or until chicken is tender. Blend 2 T. flour with sour cream and add to juices in pan.

For spatzel: Mix 1 1/2 c. flour, eggs, salt and water together. Drop by teaspoon into boiling water. Boil slowly for 4 minutes. Strain and rinse with hot water.
