ingredients
- 3 lb rump roast
- 1 Tbsp whole spices
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 onion - sliced
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp butter
- 1 cup (or more) vinegar
- 1 cup water
- salt & pepper

For "whole spices" I used pickling spice as that blend has many of the spices used in traditional saurbraten (coriander, allspice, cloves, bay leaf, etc)
