- 1 cup flour, sifted
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 t. baking powder
- 1 cup nuts, ground coarsely
- 1 cup dates chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 T. milk
- 1 t. vanilla
Mix together flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add ground nuts and dates.
Mix separately the eggs, milk and vanilla.Add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture and mix well. The dough will be very stiff.
Press into a 10” x 13” pan and bake at 325 degrees until done but do not over bake. Approx. 30 - 40 minutes.
When cold, cut into bars and roll in powdered sugar.
