Chili Con Carne
ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
- Large can of whole (or diced) tomatoes
- Large can of kidney beans, rinsed
- Large can of black beans, rinsed
- 2 small onions, chopped
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 1 1/2 tbs. chili powder
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (or as desired)
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. salt

Brown onions and pepper in slightly oiled pan until onions are translucent. Set aside.

Sear meat until grey. Pour off all grease. Add onions and pepper to meat.

Add can of tomatoes to the meat mixture along with the juice. Stir in all spices.

Add warm water until all the ingredients are submerged. Simmer for at least 75 minutes, stirring frequently.

Add beans and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.

This chili is best when made 24 hours before serving.
