Almond Rocha

ingredients
- 1# of real butter
- 2 c. of sugar
- 1/2 c. finely grated almonds
- 1 bag of chocolate chips
- candy thermometer
- 1 bag of sliced almonds.
directions
Butter a cookie pan and set aside. In a deep pot, melt butter, add sugar and finely chopped nuts. Clip a candy to the inside of pot. Stir constantly until thermometer reaches 300 degrees. Mixture will be a dark caramel color. Pour mixture onto the cookie sheet and let cool. Use a paper towel to remove excess butter from the surface of candy. Melt chocolate chips and then smooth over the top of mixture on cookie sheet. Press sliced almonds over the chocolate. Refrigerate until cool. Cut into small bite sized pieces for serving.
