Ingredients

  • Ahi Dry Rub:
  • 1 - .8 lb ahi tuna steak (sashimi grade)
  • ~ 1 tbsp. kosher salt
  • ~ 1/2 tbsp. fresh ground pepper
  • ~ 1/2 tbsp. sesame seeds
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Dipping Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tbsp. rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp. sesame seeds
  • 1 clove minced garlic

    On a plate, mix the kosher salt, pepper and sesame seeds. Rub the steaks with a small coating of olive oil, and then coat the top and bottom of the tuna steaks with the dry rub.

    Heat your grill to a high temperature. Sear the top and bottom of the ahi for no more than 2 min. per side. The insides should be completely raw with just about a 1/4 inch of seared meat on the top and bottom.

    While the tuna rests, mix all the ingredients for the dipping sauce together.

    So good and SO simple! Toss a little of the dipping sauce on arugula. Spread sliced Ahi over the top. Wonderful on a farm board or for a lunch.
