Kahlua Truffles

A great Christmas gift for your favorite chocoholic!!

ingredients

  • 12 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cut in pieces
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 TBL instant espresso powder dissolved in 1 TBL boiling water
  • 2 TBL Kahlua
  • 1 cup cocoa powder for coating truffles
  • or 1 cup mixture of confectioners sugar and cocoa powder

directions

    In a double boiler melt chocolate and butter with cream and espresso, simmering and stirring until smooth.

    Remove top of double boiler from heat and still in liqueur

  • 3

    Cool mixture, covered for at least 3 hours or until firm.

  • 4

    Form rounded teaspoons of mixture into balls and roll in coating mixture of choice. Store in refrigerator.
