Ka Lua (In the Pit) Pig
ingredients
- 4-5 lbs. of your favorite cut of pork (loin, shoulder, butt)
- 2 tsp hickory liquid smoke
- Sea salt or plain course Kosher salt
- 2 cups apple cider
- 1 diced yellow onion (completely optional, my addition to the original
- recipe)

Rub the meat with the liquid smoke and salt.

Place in the crock pot and pour the 2 cups of cider over the meat.

Cook, shred with 2 forks and serve with sweet Hawaiian bread, fresh
- 4
pineapple and/or over white rice.
