Turkish Pilaf
ingredients
- 1 cup instant white rice
- 3 T margarine or butter
- 1 lg. can tomatoes
- 1 cup water
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 t salt
- 1 t sugar
- 1/4 t pepper
- 1 bay leaf
directions
Brown rice in butter or margarine in saucepan. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes or until all of the liquid is absorbed; stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf.
