Barbecued Kabobs
ingredients
- MARINADE
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- KABOBS
- 1 1/4 pounds beef top sirloin steak, cut into cubes
- Fresh whole white mushrooms
- Red medium onion, cut into wedges
- Green pepper, cut into wedges
- Red pepper, cut into wedges
- Cherry tomatoes
- Small zucchini, cut into wedges
- Bamboo skewers, soaked in water for at least 10 minutes

1. Combine the first 7 ingredients in a large bowl. It will make about 1/2 cup of marinade.

2. Add beef. Stir until coated. Cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. Drain the meat, but save the marinade in a saucepan. Bring the marinade to a boil over medium heat. Reduce to medium-low. Simmer uncovered for at least 5 minutes.

4. Thread beef and vegetables alternately on skewers. Preheat barbecue to medium-high. Cook kabobs on greased grill for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally and brushing with reserved marinade, until desired doneness.
