Tomato Casserole

ingredients

  • 4 large tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 stick butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella

directions

Slice tomatoes and spread on the bottom of a casserole dish. Saute onions in butter for 5 minutes until tender. Toss together with bread crumbs, salt, pepper, sugar and oregano. Pour on top of tomatoes. Drizzle with 1/2 stick melted butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake another 5 minutes.
