Asian Black Bean Sauce
Great with stir fry or other Asian dishes.
ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoon’s black beans, rinsed and drained
- 2 teaspoons fresh ginger root, grated
- 2 teaspoons fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice wine
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup chicken stock

In a small sturdy bowl, mash black beans, ginger, garlic and sugar together to form a smooth paste.

Using a large skillet, add oil. Fry the black bean mixture on medium high heat until fragrant (30 seconds).

Combine remaining ingredients and stir until cornstarch is dissolved.

Add to black bean mixture and bring to a full boil stirring constantly until thickened.
notes
Add 1-2 teaspoons of chili paste with the black beans for a spicy sauce.
