Spaghetti Pie
A Lasagna-Like Spaghetti Dish
ingredients
- 1 LB ground beef
- 2 CUPS spaghetti sauce
- 3 CUPS water
- 8 ounces dried spaghetti
- 1 15- to 16-ounce container ricotta
- 2 eggs
- 2 TSP snipped fresh parsley
- 1 TSP salt
- 1 TSP dried oregano, crushed
- 1/2 TSP garlic powder
- 4 to 6 OZ mozzarella cheese, shredded (1 to 1 1/2 cups)
- Grated Parmesan cheese
directions
Brown ground beef in a large pot and drain off fat. Stir in sauce and water and bring to boiling. Add spaghetti. Return to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 7 to 10 minutes or until tender. In a large bowl stir together cottage cheese, eggs, parsley, salt, oregano, and garlic powder. Place half of the spaghetti mixture in a 3-quart rectangular baking dish. Top with cottage cheese mixture. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Top with remaining spaghetti mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Cover and bake in a 350 degree F. oven for 35 minutes.
