Hearthy Chicken Noodle Soup
ingredients
- 1 stewing chicken(about 6 lbs.), cut up
- 2 quarts water
- 1 lg. onion, quartered
- 1 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 celery rib sliced
- 5 chicken bouillon cubes
- 5 whole peppercorn
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 t. pepper
- 1/2 t. salt
- dash dried thyme
- 2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
- Noodles(egg old fashion}

In a large kettle, combine first 12 ingredients, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 2-2 1/2 hours or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken from broth; cool.

Debone chicken; cut into chuncks. Strain broth and skim fat; return to kettle. Add chicken and carrots and noodles. Cover and cook for 12-15 min. or until noodles are tender.

I make this when we're all together in Wisconsin. The grand-children all love it, even the picky ones.
