Quiche
This is a quick, easy and yummy quiche, great for dinner or brunch.
ingredients
- 1 9" pre-made pie crust (yours, refrigerator or frozen, whichever you prefer)
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- 2 pinches kosher salt
- freshly grated nutmeg
- 4 oz Chopped, cooked ham
- 4 oz Gruyere cheese, grated
- 6 mushrooms, washed and sliced

Preheat oven to 350°

Combine the eggs and cream (or half-and-half) in a stainless steel or glass bowl and whisk until thoroughly mixed.

Add salt and nutmeg and whisk to combine

Evenly spread the ham, mushrooms and grated cheese over the pie crust then pour the egg mixture over the filling.

The egg mixture will expand when cooking so do not over fill.

Bake until pie is set and firm to the touch, about 45 minutes.

Let cool for 15 - 20 minutes before serving.
notes
You can use almost any variety of meat, cheese and vegetables. High moisture vegetable such as spinach or mushrooms should be lightly cooked and drained so they don't add too much liquid to the pie.
