Morning Casserole
Cinnabun & sausage casserole w/praline topping.
ingredients
- 1 8 oz. package “Jones Golden Brown Sausage”
- 1 16 oz. loaf cinnamon or raisin bread
- 6 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups half & half
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup chopped pecans, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 Tbsp. maple syrup
- optional - whipped cream

1. Spray a 13“x9” baking pan or glass casserole with non-stick spray. Cube bread and put in prepared pan.

2. Cook sausage and cut into bite size pieces. Mix with bread.

3. In large bowl beat eggs, milk, half & half, vanilla, nutmeg & cinnamon until blended. Pour over bread & let soak overnite, covered with plastic wrap in the refrigerator.

4. Pre heat oven to 350°. Prepare topping by combining sugar, butter, syrup & pecans. Spoon by tsp. on top of bread and bake uncovered 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in middle comes out clean. Serve warm & for those who dare, with whipped cream!
notes
Can also use ground sausage or turkey sausage.
