Welcome to TasteBook, set of an online services provided by TasteBook, Inc. ("TasteBook") and its affiliates (collectively, the "TasteBook Service"). At TasteBook, we are very concerned about protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes our commitments to you concerning TasteBook's use of personal information that we receive through the TasteBook Service.
In general, we gather information about you in order to personalize your experience and to fulfill any orders you place through the TasteBook Service. Below, we have provided more detail about the information we track and how we use it. While TasteBook may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, we will always abide by the terms of the Privacy Policy in place when we collected your information. What Information do we track? How we use it?
Guest chefs: You can browse TasteBook without entering any personal information and remain anonymous during your visit. For technical purposes, TasteBook logs IP addresses, browser types, referring sites and page hits but we do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable.
Member chefs: We hope that all of our visitors will become members of the TasteBook Service so that they can enjoy some of the personalization and enhanced features we offer. Our registration form asks new members for their name, e-mail address, preferences, and various types of optional demographic information. We use this information to identify you for personalized services offer through the TasteBook Service, e.g. a personalized cookbook of stored recipes and your personal shopping list. We use your recipe ratings and saved cookbook information to shape our recommendations for you about the information and services that might be of interest to you. We may share aggregate demographic information with our advertisers and partners but we will not share personally identifiable information except as described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise agreed by you.
Cookies: The TasteBook Service uses cookies to remember passwords for you so you don't have to re-enter them each time you visit. We also use cookies to provide you with a personalized experience that will be of more interest to you. You have the option to set your browser to reject cookies, which will simply mean you will not have access to certain features of the TasteBook Service.
Sharing the information we gather with others: TasteBook does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We may provide your personal information to other companies that assist us in providing our products and services to you. Those companies will have a commitment to us to protect your information as confidential and to use your information only for the purpose of delivering TasteBook's products and services. We may provide aggregate statistics about our users, traffic patterns and related site information to other parties, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information. In addition, TasteBook may disclose personal information about you if we believe we are required to do so by law or if we believe we need to disclose that information in order to enforce our Terms of Service or otherwise protect our rights or to assist third parties in protecting their rights.
Information you share through the TasteBook Service
If you choose to share recipes or other content through the TasteBook Service, you automatically give permissions concerning that content, as described in more detail in the “Your Use of the TasteBook Service” section of the Terms of Service.
Updating your information or opt-out of emails
If you would like to correct and/or update your registration information, please use the My Account page. If you have any trouble using the My Account page, please contact TasteBook's customer service at support@tastebook.com.
